Competitive experience:

Began judo in 1976
Awarded 6th Dan in 2024 by BJA
Competed and medalled at County and Area levels
National police champion in 2011

Coaching experience:

Qualified as a coach at age 16
Ran the Sussex County junior squad in the early 90s
Founded the Surrey Police JC and was head coach and secretary for 22 years until 2018
Coached a number of players to compete at area and national level
Level 3 coach and examiner.

Officiating experience:

Technical official since 1979
Competition Controller award 1999
World championships in Birmingham 1999
Officiated at club, county, area and national events
Established the Surrey Youth Games judo event
Director of PSUK Competitions Commission and ran all PSUK events for over 15 years
Appointed the Southern Area Director of Competitions in 2020
BJA Technical Officials programme trainer
