An EGM of Hampshire County judo clubs was called on 11 January 2022 to discuss the resolution for the closing down of the Hampshire Committee. The resolution was proposed in the light of decreasing numbers of volunteers willing to be involved with Committee work, deceasing attendance at Hampshire AGMs by clubs, increasing workloads for the current volunteers and that the SA sub-Committees are ensuring that judo activities such as competitions, gradings and training courses are delivered across Counties
The quorate meeting noted that:
a. the only aspect of Hampshire judo that was closing down was the formal Committee
b. all counties will have their own page with contact details on the new Sothern Area website to advertise and report activities as they wish
c. there will still be Hampshire Squads for players, and Hampshire County teams will compete in the annual SA Inter County Championships
d. There are representatives from Hampshire on the main SA Committee and sub-Committees
e. Hampshire assets for example laptops, competition equipment etc. will be retained by Hampshire volunteers / officials.
f. Hampshire funds will be included in the SA accounts to be managed by the SA Treasurer with ring fenced income and expenditure for Hampshire activities
