The Southern Area will honour those involved in judo for a significant amount of time or for exceptional circumstances. Nominations can be made by any individual BJA member, by the Area, County or Club Committee.

Once applications are received, The Honours sub-committee will review the application and make recommendations to the Area Committee as appropriate.
All nominees must be in good standing within the British Judo Association. If approved, the nominee will be contacted and the award will be presented.

Long Service Awards

These are aimed at thanking those members who give up their time and contribute to making judo better for all those involved. It can be presented to a technical official, referee, competition organiser, first aider, committee members, coaches, examiners etc, in fact anyone who consistently supports judo over a long period of time.
Level 1 In Recognition of Long Service to a Club or County

A) 10 years’ service
B) 20 years’ service

Level 2 In Recognition of Long Service to the Southern Area

25 years’ service

Exceptional Circumstances

Applications can be made where a Southern Area member has contributed to the sport in exceptional circumstances. This could be as a player, coach, official, volunteer who has represented the Area in a positive light and at the highest level or in truly exceptional circumstances.
