
Kent Closed Championships
All players entering this competition must hold a current BJA or BJA affiliated membership, with KENT shown as the county they represent. This event will be used to select the Kent squad and teams for the Southern Area Inter-County Championships to be held on Sunday, 8 May 2022, in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

GROUP A – U12 Boys – Contest technical restrictions will apply
u27kg, u30kg, u34kg, u38kg, u42kg, u46kg and o46kg
GROUP B – U12 Girls – Contest technical restrictions will apply
u28kg, u32kg, u36kg, u40kg, u44kg, u48kg and o48kg
GROUP C – U16 Boys – No armlocks or strangles permitted
u38kg, u42kg, u46kg, u50kg, u55kg, u60kg, u66kg, u66kg, u73kg and O73kg
(No u38kg and top weight category of O66kgs in the Inter County Teams)
GROUP D – U16 Girls – No armlocks or strangles permitted
u40kg, u44kg, u48kg, u52kg, u57kg, u63kg, u70kg, 070kg
(Top weight category of O63 kgs in the Inter County Teams)
GROUP E – Senior Kyu Grade (maximum grade 2nd Kyu) – Minimum age 14
Men u60kg, u66kg, u73kg, u81kg, u90kg, u100kg and 0100kg
Women: Weight categories sorted on the day, according to entries
GROUP F – Senior Dan Grade (minimum grade 1st Kyu) – Minimum age 14
Men – u60kg, u66kg, u73kg, u81kg, u90kg, u100kg and 0100kg
Women – Weight categories sorted on the day, according to entries
Inter County Teams Senior weight groups
Men – u66kg, u81kg, u100kg and 0100kg
Women – u57kg, u70kg and 070kg
WEIGH-IN – All competitors must bring their valid membership to the weigh in with their record book for proof of grade (We will not be able to check licence validity with the BJA on the day)
Groups A and B – 8.45 am – 9.15 am – all to weigh-in in judo trousers and T-Shirt (0.6 allowance)
Groups C and D – 10.30 am – 11.00 am. Boys weigh-in in judo trousers (0.5 allowance), girls – judo trousers and T-shirt (0.6 allowance)
Groups E and F – 1.30 pm – 2 pm. Men weigh-in in judo trousers (0.6 allowance). Ladies in judo trousers and T-Shirt (0.8 allowance)

Four medals will be given in each weight group
Method: 7 and under players – pools, 8 and above – Compound knockout
BJA rules will apply throughout the competition. Technical restrictions will apply for Groups A and B. Armlocks and strangles in Groups E and F.
The organiser reserves the right to refuse entries and to combine any weight group should it be necessary. In the event of a dispute the Tournament Directors decision is FINAL. NO LICENCE, NO ENTRY, NO EXCEPTIONS

COVID Procedures
The event will be run in line with Government guidance on restrictions. All people attending the event will be expected to comply with the venue guidance in place at the time. Please do not attend this event if you have tested positive for COVID until you can provide a negative result or if you are feeling unwell. To lower the risk of infection, weigh in times will be staggered in order to reduce the number of people in the venue at any one time.
